Columbia Aircraft Sales, Inc. headquartered in Groton, CT, is the Northeastern U.S.A. area distributor for Socata TBM 700 high performance single engine turboprop aircraft.

The territory covered by Columbia Aircraft Sales, Inc. will include Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. As part of the agreement, Columbia Aircraft Sales, Inc. has ordered thirteen (13) TBM 700s and will take Serial Number 200 – an important milestone in the TBM 700 program – as their first TBM delivery in Spring 2001. Socata’s distributor contract with Columbia Aircraft Sales, Inc. marks the second agreement the company has signed with a U.S. Fixed Based Operator to market and sell the TBM 700 in North America. New Avex, Inc., based in Camarillo, CA became an authorized TBM 700 distributor for the states of California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah early last year.

“Columbia is proud to be associated with a manufacturer that is as committed to its product and its distributors as Socata Aircraft, Inc.” states Art Maurice, President of Columbia Aircraft Sales, Inc. “ One visit to Tarbes, France to witness the attention to detail, along with the Airbus-like engineering and assembly, is enough to convince even the most experienced aircraft owner that the TBM 700 is a unique and elite aircraft that anyone would be thrilled to own.”

“Columbia was one of the first TBM 700 service centers to be established in the United States and is currently one of the largest. The sales distributorship is the most natural of progressionsfor us,” he adds. “Our 70 plus employees at out two (2) locations at Groton, Connecticut and Bellmar Farmingdale, New Jersey are committed to making our TBM 700 customers feel as special and unique as their aircraft.”
