Senior appointment at EADS Socata

Stéphane Mayer named President and Chief Executive Officer of EADS Socata

EADS Socata's board of directors has named Stéphane Mayer (age 40) as its new President and chief executive officer. He succeeds Philippe Debrun. In addition, Mayer will take over the responsibilities of Jean-François Trassard, Senior Executive Vice President, who will also leave the company.

Stéphane Mayer holds an engineering degree from the French state school Polytechnique. Furthermore, he has a degrees from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Administration d’'Entreprises (ENSAE) and the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris). He began his career as an external auditor, then took responsibility of internal auditing for Lagardère group (Matra Hachette). He then moved to Matra Automobiles as Vice President Finance and Administration, and then became a member of the board. A private pilot, Stéphane Mayer is rated to fly the Socata TB 9, TB 200 and TB 20.
