EADS SOCATA today announced the appointment of Stéphane Jacques as Chief Test Pilot for the leading general aviation manufacturer.
Tarbes, France, 25 April 2008
EADS Socata remains a key element of EADS, continuing the highly successful marketing of its general aviation aircraft product line, along with its production of aerostructures for business jets, regional airliners, mainline passenger jets and helicopters.
As previously announced, EADS Socata is pursuing opportunities for industrial partnerships – which are carried out with the full support of EADS. These partnerships will enable the company to further develop its capabilities and expand the market reach.
In one such arrangement, EADS Socata partnered with equipment manufacturer Daher in 2007 to create the critical mass for a competitive work package bid on Airbus’ new Airbus A350 XWB.
Depending on the outcome of the A350 XWB work package competition, EADS Socata and Daher will evaluate the future of their relationship. This could include the pursuit of additional joint new business efforts, and – in the case of key wins, the possible entry of Daher in the capital of EADS Socata. In any case, such arrangement that would see Daher joins EADS as a shareholder of EADS Socata, will give additional resources to the development of both EADS Socata’s activities, the production of aerostructures and the general aviation aircraft product line.
